Mangaluru International Airport has reported an unprecedented management of 2.32 million passengers during the fiscal year 2024-2025, according to an official statement.
The airport's spokesperson revealed that this figure surpasses the previous record of 2.26 million passengers set in the fiscal year 2017-2018.
In comparison to the last fiscal year 2023-2024, the airport experienced a remarkable increase of 15.34% in passenger numbers, having managed 2.01 million passengers the previous year.
This translates to an additional 309,000 passengers in FY 2024-2025 compared to the last fiscal year, with the surge primarily attributed to the domestic sector.
Moreover, there was a 17.15% rise in the number of international travelers during FY 2024-2025, with 715,000 passengers flying to various foreign destinations, up from 610,000 in FY 2023-2024.
The airport also recorded an increase in Air Traffic Movements (ATM), managing a total of 16,816 movements across domestic, international, and general aviation, which is an 11.26% rise from the 15,113 ATMs in FY 2023-2024.
Additionally, the airport handled 3,864.1 metric tons (MT) of domestic cargo in FY 2024-2025, compared to 3,706.02 MT in the previous fiscal year.
The spokesperson noted that the airport has kicked off FY 2025-2026 with strong growth in passenger traffic, managing a total of 217,893 passengers in April 2025, marking the highest monthly passenger count since the Commercial Operations Date (COD) on October 31, 2020.
